Day 1-2 Travel Day Your RISE expedition begins the moment you leave home. Flights depart from Salt Lake City to Nadi, Fiji. This is the day you stop talking about going and actually go. You will cross the international dateline and lose a day of your life!
Day 3 · Bula, Fiji Everyone arrives into Nadi and connects to the island of Taveuni on smaller domestic flights. Groups land in waves throughout the day and transfer to the lodge, a stunning property set above the ocean. The evening is a welcome dinner with the local community fudnraising for their local team's rugby tournaments. Beach games, coconut harvesting, and the first real taste of what Fijian hospitality means. End the day with a devotional, time to reflect, and group meeting.
Day 4 · Coastal Walk and Humanitarian Service An early start for the Lavena Coastal Walk, one of Taveuni's most iconic trails. Your group hikes through rainforest to a remote waterfall, then takes a boat back from the beach. In between, you get to work on a real service project focused on water access and community health education. Sack lunch on the trail and dinner back at the lodge. End the day with a devotional, time to reflect, and group meeting.
Day 5 · June 19 · Snorkeling and Farming Morning on the water. Your group heads out with local guides for a full snorkeling tour through some of the world's most celebrated coral reef. Lunch is served on the boat. The afternoon belongs to a community farming project, where teens work alongside Fijian youth to plant, tend, and learn what sustainable agriculture actually looks like from the ground up.
Day 6 · Teen Boarding School One of the most memorable days of the trip. Your group visits a local teen boarding school, shops at the market with students to help stock the kitchen, then spends the day working side by side on library improvements, sports, and cultural exchange. A traditional lovo feast follows in the afternoon, where food is cooked underground the Fijian way. Dancing and a talent show close the night.
Day 7 · Sunday A day to breathe. Church at the local ward, a devotional on the beach, and space to reflect on what the week has already produced. Teens who started this trip as strangers are becoming something more. Spend the afternoon meeting local familiies and creating lifelong greindships. End the day with time to reflect, and group meeting.
Day 8 · June 22 · Remote Island Day Your group boards boats and crosses to a remote island community not accessible by road. A full day of service, connection, and cultural immersion with a village that receives very few outside visitors. Lunch with the community. A community dinner in the evening before the night boat returns everyone back to the lodge.
Day 9 · Waterfalls and International Dateline A morning for natural Fiji. Your group visits natural waterfalls, takes part in a beach cleanup along the coast, and stands on the International Date Line, one of the world's most unusual geographic landmarks. The evening is casual, with dinner at a local spot near the lodge.
Day 10 · Tavoro Waterfalls and Fiji Pearls The group splits for the morning. One half hikes to the Tavoro Waterfalls inside Bouma National Heritage Park with a service project at a nearby village. The other half tours a working pearl farm for a 90-minute guided snorkel and presentation on Fiji's pearl industry. Groups swap and both experiences happen before midday. Dinner at the lodge. End the day with a devotional, time to reflect, and group meeting.
Day 11 · Departure from Taveuni Groups begin flying back to Nadi in shifts throughout the day. Once on the mainland, the group visits famous mudbaths and a local Hindu temple for one last Fijian experience before turning in for the night. End the day with a devotional, time to reflect, and group meeting.
Day 12 · Barefoot Shark Encounters The capstone adventure. Your group sets out for a morning boat excursion to swim with reef sharks in open water. This is not a cage. This is not a simulation. It is one of the most thrilling and genuinely rare things a teenager can do. Relax in hammocks and have your final meeting on the beaches of a small private island.
Day 13 · Home The overnight flight delivers you back to the United States.
